Learn about Molloy College aircraft design, registering in a technical degree program, and taking free practice tests online. Engineering is one of the fastest-growing employment areas, for several strong reasons. As technical progress permeates industrial processes in manufacturing, food technology and agriculture, engineers are increasingly in demand. If you complete the aviation technology program, for example, there are a variety of concentrations that may appeal to you such as aerospace engineering, flight control systems, or aircraft design. Further, due to advances in aviation technology, there is a growing shortage of aircraft design graduates, and of skilled engineering technicians in general. Please use the form above to request admissions info for Molloy College.
Aerospace engineers may design aircraft, space vehicles, satellites, and missile systems. In addition, they test prototypes to make sure that they function according to design. Aerospace engineers are employed in the design and building of commercial aircraft, aviation technology systems, and spaceships. In addition, aerospace engineers that work on aircraft design projects for the military will need a security clearance.
Aerospace operations technicians and mechanics, on the other hand, need only an associates degree to begin earning a good salary. They operate and maintain equipment used in developing, testing, and producing new aircraft designs. Increasingly, these workers must be able to use computer-based modeling (CAD) and simulation tools in their work. Aviation technology certification is offered by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). In fact, SpaceTEC, the National Science Foundation Center for Aerospace Technical Education, coordinates a nationwide program through community and technical colleges to help students prepare for aviation tech certification. The median annual wage for aerospace engineers working in aircraft design with a bachelors degree was $107,830, while aircraft technicians and mechanics holding an associate's degree earned $66,180, as of May 2015.

Architectural Design
As the complexity of buildings has increased, the field of architecture has become multi-disciplinary, with specializations for each project type. In addition, there has been an increased differentiation of the design architect from the project architect who ensures that a given construction project meets required standards. The preparatory processes in the design of any large building have become quite complicated, and may require preliminary studies of such matters as durability, sustainability, and compliance with local building codes.A recent shift in architectural thought has prompted architecture schools to focus more on the environment. Sustainability in architecture was pioneered by Frank Lloyd Wright, Buckminster Fuller, and by green architects such as Ian McHarg and Sim Van der Ryn. Concepts include passive solar building design, greener roof designs, biodegradable materials, and more attention to a structure's energy usage.

Engineering Job Listings
The Fundamentals of Engineering exam should be taken immediately after earning a bachelors degree from an ABET-accredited program. Engineers who pass this exam are called engineers in training (EIT), or engineer interns. After meeting work experience requirements, engineer interns can attempt a second certifying exam, called the Principles and Practice of Engineering Exam. Thereafter, acquisition of a professional engineering license enables management of junior engineers, the ability to sign off on engineering projects, and provide services directly to the public. Wages vary by employer and location. Aside from salary, most engineering jobs include excellent benefits, as well as retirement plans.Job listings below are updated hourly: | Starting Salary (up to) | 10 Year Salary (up to) |
